For the organization of the space and the activities inside the Dome, we try to keep an opening, horizontal and harmonious spirit.

The design of the internal space keeps a radial symmetric bond with the center (Bindu´s point), usually used as the main stage.

We try to create a communion and familiarity atmosphere with the audience and between each other inside the Domo´ space by offering and sharing food during performances.

THE FREEDOMO CABARET

​

Domo Sapiens project brings a show based in the thematic cabaret method such as it is grasped in the self-managed circus sphere in Barcelona.

The thematic cabaret is made up of the unification of acts belonging to a wide range of circus disciplines, as rich and varied as the world of circus is: clown, juggling, acrobatics, aerial performing, hand by hand, acrobatics, music, theatre, dance, etc. And there is a theatrical guiding principle usually developed by comedians.

Domo Sapiens members have a wide experience creating acts, shows and circus cabarets, and doing so, the show that we offer gets to easily assimilate all the acts from our own group as well as those from guest artists, no matter what circus sphere they come from.

The guiding principle of FreeDomo´s Cabaret puts together the clown´s irrationality with the satyr criticism. It has a flexible structure which adapts to the new topics or curiosities of its members, who are occasionally influenced by the problems of people where the show takes place and their context. The link between the different acts leads the show from a first visible trouble to its absurd solution in the end, with an oneiric vision of reality along the storyline.

We give you an example of plot:

An anthropologist is looking for the legendary Domo Sapiens tribe, portrayed as primitive and underdeveloped people. The anthropologist, who comes from the western world, has the mission of helping them to develop their civilization, but in the end, when his brother turns up after having been following his footsteps, worried for his long absence, he finds him perfectly integrated to their primitive and illogical way of life.

​Our style is warm and close to the audience. Before or during the show we share some food, because we understand that eating doesn´t mean just nourishing, but a ritual, a moment to meet and share with other people.

​​EXTERNAL SUGGESTIONS

Apart from guest artists, who can occasionally fit in the group to create acts for the cabaret, there is also the possibility of taking in any other artistic and cultural proposals to be entirely performed at Domo´space.

WORKSHOPS AND OTHER TRAINING ACTIVITIES

We can offer a wide range of workshops related to numerous circus disciplines, and at the same time the Dome is opened to any knowledge exchange related to the artistic world , as well as showing exhibitions. This use of Dome´s space is compatible with shows, having, for instance, educational activities in the morning, showing exhibitions in the afternoon and the circus show at night.

SOCIAL ASPECT

Our collective was made up in the social and self-managed field and our intention is to keep this spirit.

From the beginning of the project, a percentage of our company´s profits is destined to some social projects funding, and all the members of the company work as volunteers for some of those projects.

Apart from the Domo members´ social vocation, as we have said before, the project is opened to new proposals coming from other organizations or collectives.

We understand as social projects those movements orientated to obtain equality, social unbalance correction, as well as deprived people training. We also considerate a social project the fact of bringing our artistic offer to all the people that otherwise could not have access to this kind of artistic demonstrations.
